Junior Financial Analyst

Purpose of the Junior Financial Analyst role is to support the Rubicon Organics Finance Team with a broad range of financial analyses to enable our growth as one of Canada’s top organic cannabis producers.


Rubicon Organics’ mission is to grow the best cannabis on earth and for the earth, and today we are doing just that out of our state-of-the art greenhouse facility located in Delta, B.C. We’ve recently started trading on the TSX Venture Exchange, expanded out partnerships with big names such as PAX Labs, and announced a Product Supply Agreement with German medicinal Cannabis distributor canacur GmbH. Our growth is as tangible as our products, and we’ve only just begun. 


We are looking for an outstanding Junior Financial Analyst who wants to leave a tangible legacy:

  • Someone who masterfully works an excel spreadsheet and enjoys doing it. Performs complex formulas individually and recommends strategies that maximize efficiency and output to share with the rest of the team
  • Someone newer to their Finance career journey, including talented new grads

  • Possesses a Finance &/OR Accounting background and want to grow in this area. You’re happy being both supportive & supported, but ultimately want to be an independent contributor that makes a BIG impact in this newer industry
  • You will be jointly located between our downtown office and North Delta Facility


  • Prepare various financial analyses, including financial forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, product cost models and summary information for use in management reporting
  • Maintain files and update for various KPI metrics, ensure calculations and data inputs are accurate
  • Assist in the development of the annual business plan and quarterly reforecasts, and analyze actual vs. budgeted figures on an ongoing basis
  • Provide decision support, measure product portfolio performance and analyze key business performance
  • Assist with preparation of monthly inventory reconciliation and reporting
  • Create and maintain detailed budgeted templates
  • Prepare management reporting and perform analysis on results
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits
  • Other ad-hoc work to support the Finance Manager

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree & Concentration in related field (Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration)
  • 1-2 years’ relevant experience
  • Excel proficiency & experience (intermediate/complex formulas)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment
